Charles Meanwell – “Beech Bush” – Acrylic on Typar – 66 x 66
Artist Charles Meanwell has had his own home renovation/carpentry business for over 40 years. He incorporates many of his reno materials into his artwork such as Typar; a water barrier material.
Using this special material for the base of the painting creates a unique texture and colour density.
This painting holds an abstract quality that shows glimpses of the recognizable beauty of the Grey-Bruce landscape. It is reminiscent of the Group of Seven with simplistic brushstrokes that have a sense of movement. The size of the painting gives a great presence to any space.
