Horrocks, Tiffany

Born in Kincardine, Tiffany Horrocks first started creating clay works in 2000 with an apprenticeship in functional pottery. The potential of clay demanded further exploration, and she quickly responded to the challenges of sculpture. She found her pieces coalescing seamlessly with the wild spontaneity of the Raku process, and it became impossible to return to the quiet routine of stoneware.

With her exploration of techniques, she moved into creating textural still life and landscape images on board. The subjects portrayed are minimal in appearance but the textural and vibrancy of the clay holds a unique design quality. These one of a kind pieces are all hand painted and glazed which allow each piece to shimmer in the light.

Today, working primarily with clay, she makes her living as an artist through her studio, art shows, and galleries.
