The Final Days for Aesthetic Energy

November 19, 2010

Gallery de Boer is a flurry of activity as everyone is working hard to prepare for the next exhibition. By November 26th all the artwork on display for Aesthetic Energy will be removed, the walls will be painted and our new exhibition will be hung. Our new Photo Gallery will be set up and the Native Gallery will have been rearranged.

We are excited about the new exhibition which will feature 20 artists. Please check back soon for details and photographs of this exciting new show.

In the meantime, this is your last chance to view the Aesthetic Energy exhibition. If you haven’t seen the power and energy of this show hurry in before it is all gone.

The Renovations Are Complete

November 2, 2010

The one constant at Gallery de Boer – Fine Art & Jazz it that we’re always changing. After the unexpected closing of the Annex, we decided it was time for a major redesign of the main gallery. After months of hard work and determination, we have rejuvenated the layout of the gallery and expanded the gallery space.

As you visit Gallery de Boer you will notice the 450 square foot expansion of our main gallery space to include what is now home to the new ‘Photo Gallery’. Here you will find works by Stan Bain, James Knowles, Alan Tomlinson and Montreal Jazz Fest photographer James St. Laurent. Our Native Gallery has also increased in size with a focus on our collection of Norval Morrisseau and David Morrisseau paintings as well as Inuit sculptures.

Not only have we increased the square footage of the gallery, but we have removed several walls to open up the space, added administrative space and increased our custom framing department to better accommodate our clients. An additional 100 square feet in the framing department allows many more framing samples to be displayed, along with more room for our frame specialist to work on helping preserve your personal art collection. With a fresh coat of paint and vivid lighting to showcase each area, we feel this new enhancement has sparked a positive energy.

A new exhibition will select some of Gallery de Boer’s featured artists and showcase their work by section starting mid November. These artists have been featured on our website along with various exhibitions we had throughout the years. This exhibition will allow each artist’s work to be highlighted while finding a relative connection to each concept.

We hope you will drop by the gallery to see the new, improved Gallery de Boer – Fine Art & Jazz!
